SURGICAL SPERM  RETRIEVAL

Absence of sperms in ejaculate or absent ejaculate needs intervention under anaesthesia to obtain sperms by any of the following- Micro surgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) Percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) Testicular sperm aspiration (TESA) Testicular sperm extraction (TESE) (Testicular biopsy)

This method is used to treat male infertility condition in which normal sperm is not produced or ejaculated in semen.

IT IS USED IN MEN WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:-

  • Prevention of sperm release due to obstruction caused by injury or infection
  • Congenital absence of the tube that drains the sperm from the testicles Vasectomy
  • Non obstructive azoospermia where the testicles produce low sperm count.
